New Student Registration
Please call the registration office at 804-443-3040 for an appointment to register.
Parents/Legal Guardians must provide the following items at the time of registration:
(ALL of the following items are necessary to enroll your child in school)

• Parental identification - Photo ID required

• Va School Entrance Health Form - Out of state forms cannot be accepted. *

• Proof of residency : 2 current items are required. (1st Item:  Lease or Mortgage Statement or Utility bill 2nd Item: Driver's license or Photo ID)   

• Copy of birth certificate - for age and custody verification*

• Copy of social security card*

• Most recent report card from former school to verify grade and course placement.  *

• Copy of IEP or 504  if applicable

• Custody documentation if applicable (must be signed by a judge)

* These items may be provided to us by the previous school.  However, if you have these documents, it can expedite the registration process. Please note that your child will not be able to attend until all items are received.

Why Middle School Counselors?
School Counseling has come a long way over the years.  Why is it critical for your middle school child to know who their counselor is?

Middle school students are characterized by rapid physical growth, curiosity about their world and an emerging self-identity. Counselors work as a team member with school staff, parents and the community to create a caring, supportive climate and atmosphere where  young adolescents can achieve academic success. Middle school counselors enhance the learning process and promote academic achievement. School counseling programs are essential for students to achieve optimal personal growth, acquire positive social skills and values, set appropriate career goals and realize full academic potential to become productive, contributing members of the world community.

Our young people are living in an exciting time, with an increasingly diverse society, new technologies, and expanding opportunities. To help ensure that our students are prepared to become the next generation of workers, leaders, and citizens, every student needs support, guidance, and opportunities during adolescence, a time of rapid growth and change. Early adolescents face unique and diverse challenges, both personally and developmentally, that have an impact on academic achievement.
